InfoBambu - Architecture and Engeneering

Archeological sites in Ecuador show evidence that bamboo has been used for 5000 years in South America, first by indigenous people. Dr. J.J. Parsons's article in Geographical Review Vol. 81: "Giant American Bamboo in the Vernacular Architecture of Colombia and Ecuador", of 1991, is didactic . Bridges, fences, barricades, aqueduct and even prisons were made with bamboo species Guadua angustifolia, colombians ans ecuatorians's favourite.
