InfoBambu - Architecture and Engeneering

In Brasil bamboo started being taken seriously by architects and engeneers. Despite the serious work of some professionals, like Cláudio Bernardes from Rio de Janeiro, bamboo is still recognized as "poor man's lumber". Slowly researchers, engeneers and architects efforts are knocking this retrograde idea down.

Professor Antônio de Barros Salgado, from Campinas Agronomic Institute, has some experience in bamboo construction, having constructed a bamboo house in São Paulo State.
