1997 sptember was realized the first Regional Seminaire
on Bamboo Utilization, at Uniderp, Campo Grande/MS.
The organizers called Prof. Oscar Hidalgo Lopes,
Prof. José Luis Mendes Ripper and Prof. Kosrow
Ghavammi for lectures, the last two from PUC-RJ.
Hidalgo gave us two memorable lectures on bamboo
construction present status. Ripper, architect, showed
his ten years work ahead LOTDP, a prototype laboratory
at PUC in Rio de Janeiro. Ghavammi, persian engeneer
and doctor at Moscow University, who is working in
bamboo contruction padronnization, demonstrated his technical
knowledge about the subject.

| Design
students from PUC-RJ were invited to realize a "workshop",
with free participation of Architecture students from
Uniderp. Designed by students from the LOTDP,
a greenhouse structure was raised, with forty meters square
area. We utilized non treated Bambusa Tuldoides,
and we used polypropilene rope with wood turnpike.
It has taken three days to be completed (the tractor used
to later remove the structure had to use great part of its
strengh to do it!!!). |
